In September 1944, Drag 'em Oot was transferred to the RAF's No. 1 Heavy Glider Servicing Unit. With the RAF, the aircraft took part in Operation Market Garden, sustaining twelve bullet holes through the cockpit. Following repairs, it was transferred to the Royal Canadian Air Force.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe aircraft eventually ended up in private ownership in the USA. In the early 2000s it was bought and restored by British enthusiast Paddy Green, who tracked down the aircraft's D-Day pilot Bill Allin, giving him the chance to fly his old aircraft again.
