High quality art print of Brograve Mill - an 18th century windpump - a mile north of Horsey Mere. Brograve Mill is surrounded by folklore linking it to the Devil; it is said that on a dark and stormy night, Sir Berney Brograve hid from the Devil in the mill, and the Devil attempted to blow the mill down. He was not successful, but to this day, the mill tower leans out to the west. Wetland foliage can be seen in the foreground, along with a pair of coots. Birds fly overhead in the background as a traditional Norfolk wherry sails through the Broads.
The Norfolk Broads are made up of seven rivers - the Bure, Thurne, Ant, Yare, Chet, Waveney, and Wensum - and the broads themselves, man-made lakes formed by the flooding of medieval peat excavation pits. The seven rivers and sixty-three broads together make up one navigable networks, collectively making up 120 miles of navigable waterways. This represents one of the largest navigable waterways in the United Kingdom, and makes the Broads a popular tourist destination, with an estimated eight million yearly visitors.
This Norfolk Broads illustration by artist Rob Wisdom is a high-quality Giclée art print on cotton-rich fine art paper.
