Feering Halt Railway Station Giclée Art Print
High-quality art print of Feering Halt in Essex, which served the Kelvedon and Tollesbury Light Railway, affectionately known by locals as the 'Crab and Winkle Line'. At its height, The Great Eastern Railway (GER) / London and North Eastern Railway (LNER) line ran between nearby Kelvedon Low Level and the 10 mile distant Tollesbury Pier.
Opened in January 1934, Feering Halt was constructed from an old single-decker bus. The house directly behind, which can be seen in this illustration, is still there to this day. The line was closed to train passengers in 1951, but diesel rail freight continued to be carried through until full closure in 1962. The Halt was adjacent to a level crossing on Feering Hill (B1024). At its height, The Great Eastern Railway (GER) / London and North Eastern Railway (LNER) line ran between Kelvedon Low Level and Tollesbury Pier.
