George Lazenby Giclée Art Print
High quality art print of Australian actor George Lazenby, inspired by his performance as James Bond in 1969's On Her Majesty's Secret Service.
James Bond, a dashing spy known by the codename 007, is one of the most iconic characters in the history of British cinema. Originally portrayed by Sean Connery, the role has been taken by six actors since 1961.
George Lazenby was catapulted to fame when he was cast as James Bond in 1968, having previously been known only for a Fry's Chocolate Cream advert. As the first Bond actor after Sean Connery, Lazenby had big boots to fill, and his performance in On Her Majesty's Secret Service was controversial - being slated by many, however also earning him a Golden Globe nomination. Today, the film is viewed fondly by Bond fans, who appreciate the sense of vulnerability that Lazenby brought to the role.
Lazenby's sole appearance as James Bond was the highlight of his film career, which stagnated after his agent persuaded him to leave the role after just one film - turning down a seven-film contract - to pursue a role in Westerns instead.
