Heybridge Basin, Essex Giclée Travel Poster
Giclée travel poster of Heybridge Basin.
Heybridge Basin, situated in Essex, marks the confluence of the Chelmer & Blackwater Navigation with the Blackwater Estuary, just outside the main area of Heybridge. Since its opening in 1796, the canal served as a vital conduit for goods flowing directly into Chelmsford until commercial traffic ceased in 1972. Today, the canal finds a new purpose, accommodating leisure craft, while Heybridge Basin stands out as a favored destination for visitors.
Highlighted in this illustration are two prominent establishments, the Old Ship and the Jolly Sailor, both welcoming pubs contributing to the vibrant character of Heybridge Basin. Additionally, a Wilkin & Sons tea room offers a delightful space for visitors to relax. The sea walls not only provide panoramic views of the Blackwater Estuary and Osea Island but also offer a scenic pathway leading to the nearby town of Maldon.
This Essex illustration by artist Rob Wisdom is a high-quality Giclée travel poster on cotton-rich fine art paper. Heybridge Basin art prints can be found here.
