High quality greeting card of Mountnessing Windmill in the village of Mountnessing, Essex. The current windmill was built in 1807 - replacing an earlier windmill which had been on the site at least as far back as 1477 - and restored in 1983. A classic post mill, Mountnessing Windmill sits in the middle of Mountnessing, overlooking the local tennis and cricket clubs, as well as Mountnessing Village Hall, and local pubs the Prince of Wales and the Plough.
Mountnessing itself is an Essex village on the outskirts of Ingatestone. The village had a population of just over 1000 in 2011, and is best known for Mountnessing Windmill, and for the parish church of St Giles. The village holds an annual fete each July. It is not far from Brentwood, Billericay, or Stock.
This Essex illustration by artist Rob Wisdom is a high-quality greeting card.
