High quality greeting card of Trinity, formerly known as Lightvessel 15 (LV15), and often known simply as the Tollesbury Lightship. Built in 1954 for Trinity House, the official lighthouse authority for England and Wales, LV15 was used as an active lightship until retirement in 1987. In 1990, LV15 was acquired by the Fellowship Afloat Charitable Trust (FACT), renamed as Trinity, and converted into an activity venue for youth clubs, schools, and so on.
The Tollesbury Lightship is so-known because it is moored just outside of the village of Tollesbury in Essex, just a short walk from the Tollesbury Sail Lofts, which we have also illustrated. The Tollesbury Lightship overlooks 150 acres of saltmarsh, and sits beside Woodrolfe Creek which flows into Tollesbury Fleet, and from there into the Blackwater Estuary.
This Tollesbury illustration by Rob Wisdom is a high-quality A5 greeting card.
