Bluebird CN7 Giclée Art Print

Premium Giclée artprint of the Bluebird-Proteus CN7 (also known simply as the Bluebird), which broke the land speed record in July 1964 - recording an impressive 403.1mph 'flying mile' on Lake Eyre. Bluebird CN7 was designed by Ken Norris and constructed by Coventry-based Motor Panels, and was completed in 1960. Bluebird CN7's public debut came at Goodwood in 1960, though it only recorded around 100mph on this occasion - the vehicle simply couldn't steer well enough to take any corners, and so could only be demonstrated on a straight. The world-record run came in 1964, with the Bluebird CN7 hitting a peak speed of around 440mph.

The Bluebird CN7 was designed for and driven by the legendary Donald Campbell, who throughout his career broke eight world speed records, both on land and on water - much like his father Sir Malcolm Campbell, who set thirteen such records in earlier Bluebirds. In 1964, Donald sent the world land and water speed records in the same year. Sadly, Donald passed away in 1967 during an attempt at another water speed record on Coniston Water in Lancashire.
