Castle Hedingham is village in rural Essex, not far from the border with Suffolk, and takes its name from the eponymous Hedingham Castle. Dating to sometime around the year 1140, Hedingham Castle was the stronghold of the de Vere family of barons - who held the castle all the way through to the 18th century. Today, the castle - which is undoubtedly one of the best-preserved medieval castles in England - is a most popular venue for events, including medieval re-enactments, classic car shows, and fairytale weddings.
