Clacton Pier is at No.1 North Sea in Clacton-on-Sea, Essex. Standing at 360 metres long (around 1180 feet), Clacton Pier has a long history as a succesful entertainment pier, and was name 2020's Pier of the Year by the National Piers Society.
Several of Clacton Pier's most iconic rides can be seen in this illustration, the largest and perhaps most impressive of these being the 33-metre high Big Wheel, first introduced for the Pier's 150th anniversary in 2021. Also prominent is the helter skelter in the iconic red-and-white colour scheme - originally built in 1949, though the current version dates back to 2016, replacing one lost to a storm in 2013. In the distance beyond the pier, you can see Gunfleet Sands Offshore Wind Farm.
This Essex illustration by artist Rob Wisdom is a weatherproof PVC scuff-proof posters as currently featured in stations throughout Essex and South Suffolk.
