Coggeshall, Essex Giclée Art Print
High quality art print of Coggeshall in Essex, located between the nearby towns of Braintree and Colchester. Coggeshall has a long history as a market - having held a weekly market since 1256 - and as a centre of cloth production - with the local variety of cloth, 'Coggeshall White', becoming famous in the Early Modern period. Today, Coggeshall is home to almost 300 listed buildings, and a flourishing and caring community.
Depicted in this illustration is a view of the Clock House on Stoneham Street. A Grade II listed building, the Clock House dates back to the 14th or 15th century, with the iconic blue Clock Tower added in 1787, and restored in 1887 for Queen Victoria's golden jubilee. It has previously hosted a school for poor children and a tea room.
