Original art print of an A34 Comet tank, as used by the British Army during the final year of the Second World War. The successor to the earlier A27M Cromwell cruiser tank, the Comet was powered by a Rolls-Royce Meteor engine and sported a 17-pounder high-velocity anti-tank gun. This made it one of the finest tanks of the war: reliable, mobile, and with impressive firepower. A crew of five was required: commander, gunner, loader, driver, and hull gunner. Around 1,200 Comet tanks were built in total, primarily by Leyland Motors, but also by a number of other manufacturers including English Electric.
This illustration by Rob Wisdom is a high-quality Giclée art print on cotton-rich fine art paper.
