Collection: Historic Airfield Art Prints

Our collection of art prints depicting historic airfields of the First World War and Second World War, primarily in Essex, though also RAF Ingham in Lincolnshire. Essex played host to a number of airfields in both world wars. During the Second World War, RAF Fighter Command used airfields across south Essex, while RAF Bomber Command and the United States Army Air Forces flew bombing operations from airfields across north Essex. These illustrations commemorate the legacy of those bases, and are the products of not just creativity, but of research - both on the ground, and in the archives.
