Danbury, Essex Giclée Art Print
Premium Giclée art print of the village of Danbury, located between Chelmsford and Maldon in Essex. Danbury's history stretches back as far as the Iron Age, though the oldest surviving building is the 13th century Church of St. John the Baptist, now a grade I listed building. Local legend has it that the devil once attempted to destroy the church, and stole one of its six bells; to this day, the church has only five bells. However, the bell proved too heavy to carry, and the devil dropped it not far from the church - the spot is marked today by local pub The Bell.
Depicted in this illustration is a view over the pond on Eve's Corner. Located just off of the Main Road, the pond on Eves Corner is one of the most idyllic spots in Danbury, and has been since 2019 home to a duck house, installed by Bakers of Danbury who overlook the pond from their building on Little Baddow Road. The design of the duck house was inspired by Danbury's church.
