Dedham Vale, Essex Giclée Travel Poster
Giclée travel poster of Dedham Vale, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that spans across the border between Essex and Suffolk. Centred on the River Stour, Dedham Vale runs from Wormingford in the west, to the edge of Manningtree in the east. A predominantly rural area - with Dedham being the largest village - Dedham Vale is known for its beautiful views and tranquil atmosphere, which once inspired legendary artist John Constable; to this day the area is sometimes referred to as "Constable Country."
Depicted here is a view from the north bank of the River Stour, looking back towards Dedham proper. In the foreground, you can see a cow enjoying a drink from the river; beyond are two couples out for peaceful rowing trips along the river - Dedham Boathouse is a popular venue in the area for boat hire. In the background rises the tower of Dedham's 15th century parish church, the Church of St Mary the Virgin.
We've also illustrated a view of Dedham High Street.
