Original illustration of the Etrich Taube, a German biplane that was used by the Luftstreitkräfte in the opening stages of the First World War. The first German military aircraft to enter mass-production, the Taube first flew in 1910, and proved an export success. In Italian service in the Italo-Turkish War, the Taube (piloted by Giulio Gavotti) delivered the first aerial bomb in history on 1 November 1911. By the outbreak of the First World War, the Taube was obsolete, and was withdrawn from service by 1915.

This aviation illustration by artist Ken Wisdom is a high quality Giclée art print on cotton-rich fine art paper.
