Ford Escort MkII RS1800 (Lombard RAC Rally) Giclée Art Print

The European Ford Escort, best known as a classic family car, also has a long track record in motorsport events such as motor rallying. The Ford Escort MkII RS1800, depicted in this illustration, was particularly successful in the Lombard RAC Rally, winning five consecutive rallies from 1975 to 1979. Drivers such as Timo Mäkinen, Roger Clark, and Björn Waldegård drove the RS1800 during this period. With the RS1800's predecessor, the Escort MkI RS1600, having also had a run of success in the RAC Rally, the Ford Escort saw an eight-year spell as champion.
