The Ford GT40 is a classic high-performance race car that was produced by American automobile manufacturer Ford from 1964 to 1969. The Ford GT40 was designed from the ground up to compete with Ferrari, who had won six consecutive 24 Hours of Le Mans Grand Prix of Endurance races. In this, it was successful - breaking Ferrari's streak at the 1966 race, and following that up with three more consecutive victories.
