High quality art print of the Hawker Siddeley Harrier, a British V/STOL strike aircraft introduced in 1969. This illustration depicts a Harrier GR3, a development of the original GR1, to which all operational GR1 were refitted; other variants of the Harrier were produced later, including the Sea Harrier (1980), and the American AV-8B Harrier II (1985).
The Harrier GR3 entered service with the Royal Air Force in the 1970s, replacing the GR1 which had entered service in 1969. The Harrier saw service in the Falklands War - flying from the Royal Navy's HMS Hermes, flying more than 2,000 sorties - before being phased out in favour of the upgraded Harrier II.
This illustration depicts Harrier XZ133, which is currently on display at the Imperial War Museum Duxford; Harrier XZ133 was one of the ten GR3s deployed on HMS Hermes during the Falklands War.
This illustration by Rob Wisdom is a high-quality Giclée art print on cotton-rich fine art paper.
