Progressive rock band Barclay James Harvest had just released their sixth studio album, Time Honoured Ghosts. The October event was to be their second visit to Southend that year, having played there on 25 January 1975; they would go on ot play at the Kursaal again in 1976 and 1977. The performance was delivered by John Lees, Les Holroyd, Woolly Wolstenholme, and Mel Pritchard.
Irish rockers Thin Lizzy, meanwhile, released their fifth studio album, Fighting, in September of 1975. It was to be their first album to chart in the UK, at No. 60, while their follow-up album the next year would provide their big commercial breakthrough thanks to hits like 'The Boys Are Back in Town'. The Kursaal lineup was Phul Lynott, Scott Gorham, Brian Robertson, and Brian Downey.
Both set-lists are lost to time.
