High quality art print of a Consolidated B-24 Liberator, an American heavy bomber of World War Two. 18,188 Liberators were produced from 1940-1945, and they saw use with several Allied air forces across every theatre of the war.

Introduced to United States Army Air Force service in 1941, the Liberator was quickly deployed across the world as both a transport aircraft and as a heavy bomber. As the most produced bomber in history, the Liberator must have been a common sight in the skies above Axis countries, though was also feared by its crews, who thought 'Flying Coffin' was a more honest nickname than 'Liberator.'

Today, thirteen Liberator bombers survive, of which two are airworthy. This illustration depicts 'Miss Ileen', a B-24J Liberator flown by the 23rd Bomb Squadron of the USAAF 13th Air Force. Miss Ileen operated from the Philippines during 1945.

This illustration by Rob Wisdom is a high-quality Giclée art print on cotton-rich fine art paper.
