High-quality illustration of the Lotus 49, a Team Lotus race-car that competed in four Formula One seasons from 1967 to 1970. Designed by Colin Chapman and Maurice Philippe, the Lotus 49 delivered Team Lotus two Constructors' Championships - singlehandedly in 1968, and alongside the Lotus 72 in 1970.  1968 saw Graham Hill win a Drivers' Championship in the Lotus 49, a feat also accomplished by Jochen Rindt in 1970. In total, the Lotus 49 entered 41 races, winning 12. Jim Clark, Graham Hill, Mario Andretti, Jochen Rindt, Jo Siffert, and Emerson Fittipaldi all drove the 49 at some point.

Depicted in this illustration is the Lotus 49 as driven by Graham Hill at the 1968 Monaco Grand Prix, which he ultimately won without the iconic wing, which was banned after the first practice session. A hasty hand-made spoiler replacement was fitted for race day.

This illustration by Rob Wisdom is a high quality Giclée art print on cotton-rich fine art paper.
