High quality art print of Markshall Estate, near Coggeshall in Essex. Run as a charity, Markshall Estate covers more than 2,000 acres of woodlands and farms, and a further 200 acres of arboretum and gardens, which are open to the public. With thousands of trees from all over the world, organised into themed areas acoss the grounds, Markshall Estate makes a superb day out.

Markshall Estate can trace its history back to the Domesday book in 1086, when it was known as Mercheshala, a name it took from the de Merc family who held the estate as tenants of the Earl of Essex; the de Merc family also gave their name to nearby Mark's Tey. A century later the family had adopted the surname Merkshall, and they held the estate through to the 16th century. The present name of Markshall is first recorded in 1605.
