The Mercedes-Benz 500SL is a classic sports car, one model of the long-running R107 and C107 line, which was produced by Mercedes-Benz from 1971 to 1989. The 500SL, depicted in this illustration, hit the market in 1981, replacing the SLC along with the 380SEC.
