Giclée travel poster of Victoria Esplanade, on the seafront of West Mersea. West Mersea is the largest town on Mersea Island, Essex, with a population of around 8,000, and is a popular town for visitors from across Essex, thanks to its sandy beaches and colourful beach huts, which are depicted in this illustration. Mersea offers a more peaceful, relaxed seaside experience than other seaside destinations such as Clacton-on-Sea and Southend-on-Sea.
Mersea Island is part of the City of Colchester (formerly known as Colchester Borough), and is connected to the Essex mainland by the Strood - a causeway which dates back to the Anglo-Saxon era, and which floods at high tide, cutting the island off from the hubbub of the mainland.
Love Mersea? We've also illustrated the Packing Shed and a view from Seaview Avenue.
This Mersea illustration by Essex artist Rob Wisdom is a high quality Giclée travel poster on cotton-rich fine art paper. For our classic art print of Victoria Esplande, click here.
