High quality art print of Naze Tower, on the outskirts of the town of Walton-on-the-Naze in Essex. The Grade II* listed Hanoverian tower - generally known as Naze Tower was built in the early 18th century as a navigational tower. Over the years, the tower has been a tea house, a radar station, and today is a popular tourist destination; however, coastal erosion has left Naze Tower in danger of falling into the North Sea in the future. The tower - and town - takes its name from a peninsula called the Naze, known for its beautiful views and rare fossil deposits.
Naze Tower overlooks the seaside town Walton-on-the-Naze, which we have also illustrated. The town is home to Walton Pier, which is one of the country's longest piers at 2600 feet long. Walton is on the Sunshine Coast line, which runs from Colchester via Wivenhoe and Frinton-on-Sea.
