Newport W11 is a Stroudley AIX Class 'Terrier' 0-6-0T steam locomotive that is currently operated by the Isle of Wight Steam Railway. Newport W11 was designed by William Stroudley, and constructed in 1878 for the London, Brighton & South Coast Railway. Newport first operated on the Isle of Wight from 1902 to 1946, gaining its designation - W11 - and name - Newport - during this time. The locomotive's career continued on the mainland until 1963, when she was withdrawn from service.

Newport W11 returned to the Isle of Wight in 1973, on loan to the Isle of Wight Railway, a recently-formed heritage railway. Originally a display piece, Newport W11 was returned to steam in 1989. To this day, residents of and tourists to the Isle of Wight can enjoy journeys on the iconic steam locomotive.

Newport W11 is depicted in this illustration in its iconic green livery.

This illustration by Rob Wisdom is a high quality Giclee art print on cotton-rich fine art paper.
