Pierce Brosnan was the fifth James Bond, following Roger Moore and Timothy Dalton. Where Moore had been the most comedic Bond, and Dalton the most cynical, Brosnan struck a balance, portraying a charming but dangerous gentleman spy. He portrayed Bond for four films, starting with GoldenEye and ending with Die Another Day.
Outside of James Bond, Pierce Brosnan has a varied and successful acting career, appearing in everything from spy thrillers - The Fourth Protocol and The November Man - to musicals - Mamma Mia! - and comedies - Mrs. Doubtfire. Brosnan has had a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame since 1997, and is considered among the best Irish actors of all time.
