High-quality Giclée art print recreating a nostalgic poster of the past. This poster promoted legendary new wave synth-pop band Depeche Mode at Raquels, Basildon, on Sunday 3rd May 1981. Depeche Mode were performing in their hometown, where they'd first formed in 1977 under the name No Romance in China; the name Depeche Mode came in September 1980.

Depeche Mode's first official single, "Dreaming of Me", had debuted in February of that year, and charted at number 57 on the UK singles chart. Further success would come later in the year, with "New Life" reaching number 11 in the UK singles charts, "Just Can't Get Enough" reaching number 2, and their debut album Speak & Spell peaking at number 10 in the albums charts.

The classic lineup at this stage was Vince Clarke, Andy Fletcher, Martin Gore, and Dave Gahan. Clarke would leave in November, going on to form Yazoo with Alison Moyet, and later Erasure with Andy Bell. Depeche Mode, meanwhile, picked up Alan Wilder and went on to further success with hits like "People Are People," "Blasphemous Rumours," "Shake the Disease," "Personal Jesus," and "Enjoy the Silence."
