Sean Connery Giclée Art Print
High quality art print of British actor Sean Connery, inspired by his performances as James Bond between 1962 and 1983.
James Bond, a dashing spy known by the codename 007, is one of the most iconic characters in the history of British cinema. The role has been taken by six actors since 1961, most recently by Daniel Craig.
Sean Connery was the first actor to portray James Bond, much to author Ian Fleming's disapproval - Fleming saw Connery as too Scottish, too muscular, and not elegant enough for the role. Connery would prove Fleming wrong - indeed, Fleming later wrote Scottish ancestry into Bond's character - and have a hugely successful run as James Bond.
Sean Connery held the role of Bond three times. His first run began with Dr. No in 1962 and ended with You Only Live Twice in 1967, starring in classics such as From Russia with Love and Goldfinger along the way. He later returned for Diamonds Are Forever in 1971, and again for Never Say Never Again in 1983.
Sean Connery won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards, and three Golden Globes. He was knighted in 20000, having previously won honours in France (Commander of the Order of Arts and Letters) and the United States (Knennedy Centre Honors). He passed away in 2020 at the age of 90.
