Original art print of an M4 Sherman tank. Depicted in this illustration is an M4A3E8 (or 'Easy Eight') variant, introduced from August 1944 onwards, and featuring a wider track and 105mm main gun. The Easy Eight Sherman famously served with the 4th Armored Division (under the command of General Patton) during the Battle of the Bulge; most notably involved in breaking the Siege of Bastogne in Belgium.
The Sherman Tank was the most-produced American tank of World War II, with almost 50,000 built; only the Soviet T-34 was built in greater numbers. Entering service in 1942, the Sherman proved itself to be a fine tank with the British Army at the Second Battle of El Alamein, and continued to be used throughout the war. The Easy Eight variant continued in US Army service until 1957, seeing service in the Korean War; among foreign operators, it continued in service until 2018 in Paraguay.
This Sherman illustration by artist Rob Wisdom is a high-quality Giclée art print on cotton-rich fine art paper. It is ideal for World War 2 history enthusiasts, British Army supporters, and fans of military history more generally.
