The 'Strawberry Express' Giclée Art Print
High-quality art print of the 'Strawberry Express' at the former Tiptree Station in Essex. The Kelvedon and Tollesbury Light Railway (a branch line on the Great Eastern Railway, and later on the London and North Eastern Railway) served, from 1904 to 1962, the Wilkin & Sons Jam Factory in Tiptree, carrying vast quantities of fruits - including the famous 'Little Scarlet' strawberries - and jams to Kelvedon, from where they would be shipped across the world; it is no surprise, then, that the train came to be nicknamed the 'Strawberry Express'.
Though the Kelvedon and Tollesbury Light Railway was closed in the 1960s, it is fondly remembered by locals. Tiptree is still home to Wilkin & Sons and their jam factory, who continue to ship 'Little Scarlet' strawberries worldwide - alongside their broad range of preserves, marmalades, and gins.
