Tollesbury Pier Railway Station Giclée Art Print
High quality art print of Tollesbury Pier railway station in Essex, which was on the Kelvedon and Tollesbury Light Railway, affectionately known by locals as the 'Crab and Winkle Line'. At its height, The Great Eastern Railway (GER) / London and North Eastern Railway (LNER) line ran between Kelvedon Low Level and Tollesbury Pier.
Opened in 1907, Tollesbury Pier railway station was an extension of the line, which had previously terminated at Tollesbury railway station. Intended to serve tourism from the pier, the station didn't bring the expected traffic, and - after use for troop training during the First World War - was closed in 1921. Railway art printed on cotton-rich fine art paper.
See what's left of the station with this YouTube video from Paul and Rebecca Whitewick, who have a fantastic channel where they explore disused railway stations all over the United Kingdom.
