A popular seaside destination, Walton is home to Walton pier, the third-longest pier in the country, as well as to miles of sandy beaches. The town's beach huts are hugely popular, and play a starring role in this original illustration.

Walton-on-the-Naze is overlooked by Naze Tower. A Grade II* listed building, Naze Tower is a popular destination for tourists arriving in Walton on the Sunshine Coast line, which passes through Winvehoe and Frinton-on-Sea on the way from Colchester. It is depicted here on a idyllic winter's day, with snow on the beach.
