Witham, Essex Giclée Art Print
Premium Giclée art print of Witham, Essex, depicting a view towards St Nicolas' Church on Chipping Hill. Originally built sometime around 1330, St Nicolas' Church underwent additions in the 14th and 15th centuries, and twice underwent restoration work in the 19th century. The church is now Grade I listed by Historic England.
Witham itself is a small town, part of the District of Braintree, and has for over a millennium stood on the Roman road between Chelmsford to the south, and Colchester to the north. Witham's first appearance on the historical record comes in 913, when King Edward the Elder camped there on his way to besiege Colchester. The town grew up around Chipping Hill, site of St Nicolas' Church.
