Original illustration of the Albatros D.III, a German bi-plane fighter aircraft of the First World War. Development of the D.III began in mid-1916, and it entered service with the Luftstreitkräfte by the end of that year. The D.III was a highly capable aircraft, and played a key role in Germany's air superiority during "Bloody April" in 1917. The Alabtros remained in German service until the end of the war; export versions were used by Poland in the Polish-Soviet War of 1919 to 1920, and remained in service as late as 1923.
This aviation illustration by artist Ken Wisdom is a high quality Giclée art print on cotton-rich fine art paper.
