Buckhurst Hill, Essex Giclée Travel Poster

Original travel poster of Buckhurst Hill station in Essex, a train station on the Central line of the London Underground. The station was first opened by the Eastern Counties Railway in 1856 as the penultimate step on the branch line to Loughton, but was substantially rebuilt in 1892 - and it is the 1892 structures that make up most of the present-day station.
The station is in the town of Buckhurst Hill, part of the Epping Forest district of Essex, but often considered a part of the Greater London Urban Area. The town's history is, for the most part, linked to that of the station. Following the arrival of the station, Buckhurst Hill rapidly grew from a small scattering houses into a commuter town; the first twenty years of the station saw the construction of around six-hundred houses and a new school. Buckhurst Hill is home to another station, Roding Valley, which has the distinction of being the least busy station on the London Underground.
