Listeners of the brilliant We Have Ways of Making You Talk World War Two podcast, hosted by Al Murray and James Holland, will have been inspired by recent episodes exploring the Royal Navy’s Fleet Air Arm. Stories of the daring Taranto Raid, the hunt to sink the German battleship Bismarck, and the dramatic Channel Dash have reminded audiences just how remarkable the Royal Navy & the Fleet Air Arm truly is.

They also highlight one important fact: the Fairey Swordfish (affectionately nicknamed the “Stringbag” by its crews) was far more than an antiquated biplane. It was a formidable and highly effective aircraft.

Inspired by these stories, the team at Wisdom Art Prints has released a very special limited art print featuring Fairey Swordfish L9726 of 818 Naval Air Squadron during the attack on the German battleship Bismarck on 27 May 1941. Incidentally, the term “pocket battleship” was used by the British to describe Germany’s Deutschland-class warships: smaller than traditional battleships, but heavily armed for their size.

In partnership with We Have Ways ‘Duxford Big Wing’ Independent Company, The Polish Heritage Flight, and Wisdom Art Prints, we are delighted to announce that for every Swordfish print ordered, a donation will be made to Finley’s Touch between now and the We Have Ways Fest, taking place at Blackpit Brewery, Northamptonshire from 11th –13th September 2026.

Finley’s Touch is a charity founded by the family of Finley Relf, who bravely battled cancer. The organisation supports children diagnosed with cancer and their families by providing financial assistance, hospital survival bags, and National Trust memberships. Above all, Finley’s Touch aims to spread fun, happiness, and hope to children facing the toughest of battles, while raising awareness of childhood cancer and delivering practical help to families in need.

This special print celebrates courage, resilience, and community, both in the skies over the Atlantic in 1941, and in the lives of children fighting their own battles today.

For Finley.
