Horham Airfield was one of a number of airfield built across East Anglia for the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) in 1942–43. Designated at Station 119, Horham became home to the 95th Bomb Group in June 1943, and they would remain there for the duration of the war, taking part in the Combined Bomber Offensive against German-occupied Europe. The group flew more than 300 missions, and received three Distinguished Unit Citations. Today Horham is home to the official UK museum of the 95th Bomb Group.
