Original illustration of RAF Ingham (Lincolnshire), a Royal Air Force airbase of the Second World War. RAF Ingham was home to several of the Polish bomber squadrons that served with the Royal Air Force - namely, No. 300, No. 301, No. 304, and No. 305 Squadrons.
RAF Ingham was opened in 1941 as an 'overflow' base for nearby RAF Hemswell, and operated through to 1946. From November 1944 until closure, the base was instead known as RAF Cammeringham, due to deliveries mistakenly being delivered to Ingham, Suffolk. Today, the site is home to RAF Ingham Heritage Centre, which officially opened on 17 April 2024. A print of this illustration was presented to the Centre to celebrate the opening.
The illustration was produced in partnership with the Polish Heritage Flight, which honours the memory of the Polish pilots who served with the Royal Air Force in the Second World War. You can learn more about them and their mission here.
This RAF Ingham illustration by Rob Wisdom is a high quality Giclée art print on cotton-rich fine art paper.
