Royal Aircraft Factory R.E.8

Original illustration of a Royal Aircraft Factory R.E.8, a British biplane of the First World War. The R.E.8 was designed as a replacement for the earlier B.E.2, and was introduced to the Royal Flying Corps in large numbers from 1916. By the end of the war it had become obsolete, and the surviving models were retired.
