Original illustration of a Sopwith Camel biplane, circa 1917. Developed by the Sopwith Aviation Company to replace the earlier Sopwith Pup, the Sopwith Camel became one of the best-known fighter aircraft of the First World War. It also ranked among the most successful, with its 1,294 air-to-air kills the most of any Allied fighter. The Camel entered service with the Royal Flying Corps in June 1917, and was eventually retired by the Royal Air Force in January 1920.
This aviation illustration by artist Ken Wisdom is a high quality Giclée art print on cotton-rich fine art paper.
