Original illustration of the SPAD S.XIII, a French fighter biplane used primarily by the Aéronautique Militaire (and notably also by the United States Army Air Service) during the First World War. Introduced in early 1917, the S.XIII proved one of the most successful aircraft of the War, with over 8,000 being built. The highest scoring Allied ace of the war, Rene Fonck, flew the S.XIII, as did the highest-scoring American (Eddie Rickenbacker) and Italian (Francesco Baracca) aces.
This aviation illustration by artist Ken Wisdom is a high quality Giclée art print on cotton-rich fine art paper.
