High-quality art print of the Supermarine Spitfire, the most iconic fighter plane in British history, famous for its role in defending the country during the Battle of Britain. However, the Spitfire was also used in photo-reconnaissance (PR) roles, due to its speed and high altitude performance allowing it to evade enemy fighters.
The photo-reconnaissance Spitfire Mk XI depicted had a top speed of 417mph at 24000 feet, and a still-impressive 395mph at 32,000 feet. It was produced from November 1942 to April 1944.
This illustration by Rob Wisdom is a high quality Giclée art print on cotton-rich fine art paper.
