Thaxted, Essex

High quality art print of Thaxted, a town in Uttlesford, Essex. Nestled in the Chelmer Valley, Thaxted is a historic market town that has retained many of its beautiful medieval buildings. Most notable among these buildings are Thaxted Guildhall - built in the 15th century, and now used as local museum - and Thaxted Parish Church - a 14th century church that is still one of England's largest; both of these Grade I listed buildings can be seen in this illustration.

Today, Thaxted is regarded as one of the best places to live in Essex, with beautiful buildings, idyllic rural surroundings (crowned by John Webb's windmill, also known as Thaxted Windmill), and a strong local community. Thaxted is also home to one of England's longest-running Morris dancing groups, the Thaxted Morris Men.
