Original art print of the Willys Jeep (more formally, the Willys MB, or the G-503). The Jeep was the world's first mass-produced four-wheel drive car, and became ubiquitous among the Allied forces in the Second World War as a light utility vehicle. Known for being tough, versatile, and reliable in a broad range of conditions, the Jeep played a vital role in Allied logistics.
The Jeep entered full production in 1941, prior to the United States entering the war initially it was for export to the British Commonwealth and Soviet Union. It was produced in huge numbers: more than 600,000, split across Willys and Ford. The Jeep was invaluable for its versatility, reliability, and ability to operate effectively across all sorts of rugged terrain where heavier logistics vehicles struggled.
This illustration by Rob Wisdom is a high-quality Giclée art print on cotton-rich fine art paper.
