The Battle of Britain Class locomotive 34053 'Sir Keith Park', designed by Oliver Bulleid, is a preserved example of Southern Railway’s innovative 'Battle of Britain' class locomotives of the 1940s to 1960s, known for their air-smoothed casings and mixed-traffic capability.

In a tribute to the Polish 303 Squadron’s heroic role in the Battle of Britain, the locomotive was temporarily renamed 303 Squadron from September 2024 to 2025. This marked the first time a UK-based engine honoured a Polish squadron. It is depicted here in its 303 Squadron livery.

The illustration was produced in partnership with the Polish Heritage Flight, which honours the memory of the Polish pilots who served with the Royal Air Force in the Second World War. You can learn more about them and their mission here.

This 303 Squadron locomotive illustration by Rob Wisdom is a high quality Giclée art print on cotton-rich fine art paper.

12x16" art print shown. Cropping and title position (if applicable) may differ slightly on 'A' size art prints.
