Original illustration of the Sopwith Pup bi-plane fighter, which was operated by the Royal Flying Corps and Royal Naval Air Service from 1916 onwards; first serving on the Western Front, and then being moved into a home defence role from 1917 onwards. The Pup was officially named the Sopwith Scout, but picked up its nickname as it was seen as the smaller "pup" to the larger Sopwith 1½ Strutter; it set a precedent for Sopwith aircraft to have animal names (most famously the Sopwith Camel).
This aviation illustration by artist Ken Wisdom is a high quality Giclée art print on cotton-rich fine art paper.
